In August, I visited a Rockport property where the owner had started seeing roaches in the kitchen and bathroom.
The property was used as a guest-ready space, so the owner wanted the issue addressed quickly. They were concerned that even a small roach problem could affect cleanliness, comfort and the overall impression of the property.
The owner had cleaned the visible areas, but roaches were still showing up at night near the sink, cabinets and appliances.

Roach problems are not always caused by poor cleaning. In coastal properties, moisture, warmth and hidden spaces can all support roach activity.
At this property, the main concern areas included:
moisture under the kitchen sink
gaps around cabinets and baseboards
activity behind appliances
food crumbs in hard-to-reach areas
possible access points around plumbing
trash and storage areas near the kitchen
For Rockport homes, rentals, restaurants and businesses, roaches can quickly affect guest comfort and property confidence.

I started by inspecting the areas where the owner had seen roaches most often.
I checked under the sink, behind appliances, inside cabinets, around baseboards, near plumbing openings and along the edges of the kitchen and bathroom.
After identifying the high-activity areas, I explained what was likely supporting the problem and where treatment should be focused.
The recommended service targeted the spaces where roaches were hiding, feeding and traveling through the property.
After the inspection, the owner had a much better understanding of why roaches were appearing and what needed to be addressed.
The service focused on the most active areas while also giving the owner simple prevention steps to help reduce future problems.
The biggest improvement was clarity. Instead of guessing why roaches were showing up, the owner knew which areas needed attention and how to help keep the property cleaner and more comfortable.

Here are a few roach prevention tips I shared:
keep food sealed tightly
clean crumbs and grease from hidden areas
empty trash regularly
avoid leaving pet food out overnight
fix leaks or moisture issues
reduce clutter under sinks and inside cabinets
seal small gaps around plumbing and baseboards when possible
make kitchens and bathrooms accessible before service
These steps can make a big difference when paired with professional roach treatment.

Roaches are one of the pests property owners should not ignore, especially in guest-ready spaces.
If you see one, there may be more hiding in dark, warm or moist areas. Kitchens, bathrooms, drains and storage areas are especially common because they provide food, water and shelter.
That is why treatment should focus on the source of the activity, not just the roach you happen to see.

If you are seeing roaches in your kitchen, bathroom, cabinets, drains or around appliances, it is best to schedule an inspection before the problem spreads.
In Rockport & Greater Corpus Christi, August can be a common time for roach concerns because warm, humid weather can support activity inside homes, rentals and businesses.
